The Libyan Red Crescent teams in Surman successfully rescued 47 migrants of various nationalities following three separate reports along the city’s coast. The rescued group included women and children, who received immediate emergency medical care and first aid from the field teams upon arrival.

During the operations, the medical team managed an urgent childbirth under challenging field conditions. The paramedics successfully performed the delivery. The association confirmed that the mother and her newborn are currently in stable health condition under medical supervision.
The Red Crescent noted that coordination with relevant authorities was established to transfer the migrants to designated shelters. They further emphasized that ongoing medical follow-ups would continue for those requiring additional healthcare to ensure their total recovery.
