Member of the House of Representatives Abdul Salam Abdullah Nassiya participated yesterday, Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the “Parliaments for Palestine” meeting held in Istanbul. The lawmaker emphasized that the plight of the Palestinian people is no longer merely a political crisis, but has evolved into a grave and systematic violation of international humanitarian and human rights laws, stressing the urgency of moving from the stage of solidarity to effective international legal accountability. Nassiya called for supporting international justice tracks, whether before the International Court of Justice or the International Criminal Court, affirming the importance of respecting international legitimacy resolutions that stipulate the illegality of occupation and settlement activities.
Furthermore, he expressed his rejection of any attempts aimed at legalizing violations, including those related to Palestinian prisoners, considering them a clear breach of the Geneva Conventions and amounting to war crimes that necessitate international prosecution. The representative reaffirmed Libya’s steadfast position in supporting the Palestinian cause and rejecting all forms of normalization, while expressing readiness to enhance international parliamentary cooperation to build a more effective stance toward current developments. He concluded his participation by emphasizing the importance of developing and expanding the work of parliamentary groups supporting Palestine to help transform political positions into practical policies and measures, noting that the Palestinian cause today represents a true test of the international system’s credibility.
