The Khalifa International Foundation for Humanitarian Works, in collaboration with the University of Benghazi, has introduced the “Khalifa Programme for Societal Research.” This initiative is designed to empower students and academics to conduct field studies that examine the challenges facing vulnerable populations in Libya. The primary objective is to translate academic findings into practical humanitarian interventions that address real-world needs.
During the preparatory meeting, stakeholders defined research priorities and established timelines for project implementation. Discussions also covered the mechanisms for providing financial and logistical support to research teams, ensuring that the final scientific outputs meet high standards of quality and reliability. By fostering rigorous data collection, the programme aims to build a solid foundation for more impactful humanitarian projects.
This strategic partnership underscores a commitment to integrating scientific research into the humanitarian sector, promoting a culture of evidence-based intervention. By bridging the gap between academia and field work, the foundation and the university seek to institutionalize data-driven strategies for tackling social issues. Ultimately, this collaboration aims to enhance the effectiveness of social welfare programmes across Libya through informed planning and professional research.
