The Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, Osama Hammad, announced the scheduling of the Arafah Day and Eid al-Adha holidays for the Hijri year 1447, corresponding to 2026 AD, under Decree No. 103 of 2026, stipulating that the vacation will cover all public ministries, bodies, and institutions from May 26 to May 29.
The new regulation exempted vital sectors whose duties require continuous operations to serve citizens, such as the medical, security, and essential utility sectors, while emphasizing the full preservation of financial and compensatory rights for employees assigned to work during this period in accordance with applicable laws, with the decree taking immediate effect and repealing all contrary provisions.
