Libyan Minister of Water Resources, Hosni Owaydan, held talks with Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Daler Juma, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in water management, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development.
The meeting took place in the capital, Dushanbe, where the Libyan delegation is currently participating in the 4th High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development 2018–2028.”
Both officials reviewed the conference’s outcomes and mapped out future joint initiatives, with a particular focus on integrated water resource management, dam engineering and construction, capacity building, technical training, and knowledge exchange.
The Tajik minister commended Libya’s active participation in the global event, praising the delegation’s contributions to the associated African Forum, as both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing water security and sustainability goals.
