Al-Nasr have consolidated their position at the top of the table after securing a vital 2-1 victory over al-Afriqi in the third round of the Libyan Premier League’s championship playoff (Hexagonal) for the second zone, maintaining their impressive run of form.
Al-Nasr made a powerful start to the encounter, with Hassan Bekair opening the scoring early in the fourth minute to give his side a 1-0 lead heading into the half-time break.
The momentum continued in the second half as al-Nasr’s foreign signing, Mukwala, doubled the advantage in the 78th minute. Al-Afriqi’s overseas player, Ayaya, managed to pull one back for his team in the 84th minute, setting up a tense finish.
With this triumph, al-Nasr have increased their tally to 7 points, strengthening their grip on first place in the group, whilst al-Afriqi remain without a single point after three matches.
