During an emergency session held in Tripoli and presided over by Mohammed Takala, the High Council of State approved strict measures to freeze the membership of any individual engaging in political agreements without explicit official authorization. This move is designed to safeguard the institution’s unified stance and prevent unilateral actions from undermining the Council’s formal representation in political arenas.
In a bid to overcome the prevailing political deadlock, members resolved to establish a committee for urgent communication with the House of Representatives. This committee is tasked with activating the “Cairo Agreement” and fostering inter-institutional coordination to propel the stalled political process forward. The session, which met legal quorum, also involved extensive deliberations on crafting a unified mechanism for member participation in UN-brokered dialogues, ensuring representation remains consistent with the Council’s prior resolutions.
The Council concluded by emphasizing the importance of opening effective channels with various political stakeholders. The objective remains to resume national dialogue and reach a comprehensive institutional consensus that secures national stability and paves the way for the completion of long-awaited electoral mandates.
